Introduction

Nagios is a VM monitoring tool. Sopht may need to access clients' monitoring data to perform performance reports. Therefore, it may be necessary to establish a connector that links Nagios monitoring data from a client to the Sopht database.

This document is a manual that enables clients to provide necessary information to Sopht for setting up a connector that interfaces with their Nagios data.

Quick Overview

Purpose: Collects VM monitoring data and performance metrics from Nagios monitoring systems for on-premise usage reporting.

Key Information:

Data Collected:
- Virtual Machines: VM name, host object ID, performance data
- Metrics: Memory usage, disk usage, CPU metrics (as percentages)
- Granularity: Time-series performance data

Setup Requirements:

Nagios Base URL (HTTPS)
Nagios API Key (retrieved from Nagios Help > API Docs > Authentication)
Network access: Port 443 to Nagios API and backbone.sopht.com
