Introduction

ServiceNow is an enterprise inventory management tool. Sopht may need to access inventory data from certain clients to perform ecological consumption calculations. For this reason, it may be necessary to set up a connector to link a client's ServiceNow inventory to the Sopht database.

This document serves as a user manual, providing clients with the necessary information to set up the connector and enable Sopht to interface with their ServiceNow inventory.

Questions to ask before following the procedure:

• Should the data be filtered? By entity, BU, geographical location?
• Are there risks of collisions/duplicates with other connectors to be implemented (Intune, CSV…) ?
• What is the approximate or exact number of equipment by category ? How many laptops, desktops, monitors, etc.

Step 1. Creating an OAuth API access to an instance

Step 2. Configure the Sopht instance

This step configures the ServiceNow instance to become an OAuth client.

• Go to Application Registry System OAuth > Application Registry.
• Click on New > Create an OAuth API endpoint for external clients.
• Fill out the form according to your needs. Then click Submit. If you are unsure, you can only complete the name field. Note: The ClientId and ClientSecret are to be kept for later.
